Hang on one sec. Where did April go??? The time seems to be flying by so quickly. Wish I could just stop time for a month or so then I could get caught up on everything.
Well, with my blog being relatively new I’m hopping on the bandwagon and joining in on sharing my favorite things for the month. So here we gooooooo!
Hi guys! I am really excited to share with you about a new cookbook that I bought this week. The link to purchase it will be at the bottom of this post.
I have followed this lovely lady (blogger Katie Farrell) for sometime now and tried a few recipes here and there. Lately, I am feeling the effects of getting close to 50 (mostly mental) and decided that I want to try this “clean eating” thing.
I have been making one of her dinner dishes for the last three nights and eating a big salad for lunch each day. Starting the day out with three eggs and my cup of coffee.
Now let me tell you that I have been having headaches for the last month everyday! Not fun at all. Trying not to take many meds for it because that’s not good for you. I realized last night after dinner that I have not had a headache for the last three days! Coincidence? I am thinking not.
I have not had any refined sugar (using organic coconut sugar) and I think this has made the BIG difference. My stomach doesn’t feel all bloated and the family is LOVING every meal. That is huge for me.
I will share some pictures with you from my kitchen. Seriously, easy! My goal is to make it seven days in a row and then go from there. I will let you know how it’s going.
I have a hard time sitting through a whole movie. I think it was because when my kids were little when they were preoccupied with watching something…that was my time to get things done around the house. There are a few exceptions to that rule that I am sharing with you today.
These six movies without a doubt are my all time favorite. Ever.
I love the old classics and these fit the bill perfectly. These are movies that we have watched over and over for years. Some are a yearly tradition when all the kids are home.
I pulled these pictures off Amazon and you can purchase them there (they are all linked). There is a brief description of each movie under the picture.
Pour your favorite drink and grab some snacks, settle in for a few hours…you are in for a treat! Be sure and let me know which ones you watch and what you think.
Do you have a favorite movie/movies? Please share with me!The Great Race This one is my favorite. Mr D. and I have fun quoting it for funny situations. Family friendly and hilarious!
Academy Award winner Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Natalie Wood star in a slapstick farce about a 22,000-mile road race from New York to Paris set in 1908. Dastardly, black-garbed Dr. Fate (Lemmon) dares the world’s greatest hero, The Great Leslie (Curtis), to the race across the Wild West, through frozen Alaska and into the Kingdom of Carpania. Fate sets a series of nefarious traps for Leslie, but neither plans on the indefatigable suffragette Maggie DuBois–the object of both Leslie’s and Fate’s affection–to enter the race, determined to strike a blow for feminism.
A few weekends ago Mr. D and I went to see Kirk Franklin in concert. It was seriously one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Ever. This is the beautiful building it was held at. The State Theatre in Minneapolis. It was really neat to see all the handiwork that went into this place. They don’t build them like this anymore. Here is a little info from the site. The State Theatre seats 2,181. It opened in 1921 and was considered the most technologically advanced and elaborate theatre in the United States.
