Easter-1I am amazed at how fast the time seems to be going by. You will see proof of that in a picture below. Does it seem that way for everyone or just me? I mean, it seems just like last weekend I was running around the mall from store to store trying to find the perfect outfits for each of my children. To finally find matching dresses for my girls and then…oh, the shoes & tights! The boys always seemed to be a bit easier. Washing hair and then making those sweet little babies sleep all night in… …sponge rollers!

Do you remember those? It’s no wonder they didn’t wake up with neck aches. They probably did, but at that point were too excited thinking about the Easter baskets full of candy that they were going to get after church.

At that point in my life it was all so important to me that I wonder if I missed the true reason for celebrating this wonderful day to begin with. Things have changed a lot for me in the last few years and I think back and wonder what would it have been like if we all got up the Sunday morning and just put on play clothes and went to the nearest park and played. Had a picnic lunch and told the story of Jesus.

Please, I am in no way saying the tradition of the day is wrong and if you are in the midst of finding the perfect outfit and all that is great! I know your day will be wonderful. I am just reflecting as I am getting older and wondering out loud.

Thanks for letting me do this.

So, suffice to say I hope you have the most Blessed Easter full of family, friends and great food and don’t forget to kiss them babies and take LOTS of pictures!

Maybe one day I will take my grandbabies to the park on an early Easter morning…

Easter us

This is our Easter Family picture from 20 years ago. Looks like my son had a neck ache and he didn’t even have to wear the sponge rollers!

What are your plans for Easter and do you have any special traditions? I would love to hear from you!

~Next week I will be sharing how we did a wood wall in our living room…easy and lots of pictures. 🙂
