ANXIETY AND HOW I BEAT IT
Hi friends, happy Friday! I hope you and your loved ones are all healthy and doing well during this crazy time in our lives. My family is all doing good except for a few of us that have allergies. The pollen is high this year. That brings chest heaviness which then just makes you a bit anxious even though it happens every year. I had to get back home and apply more essential oils after getting pretty stressed about waiting in line for over 2 hours for my groceries yesterday. Then they couldn’t find all my order so I only got a partial of what I ordered. I was ready to go in there and organize the whole bunch! LOL
This is a different post for me today. Breaking away from the sales and recipes to share what has helped my anxiety the last 10+ years and what products I have used a bit more during this uncertain time. I’m going to back up a bit so hang with me for a few then we will get into the products that have helped me with Anxiety and How I Beat It.
When my kiddos were little we lived in a town in California that was high crime (some of them are) and I would start getting nervous when the sun went down and Mr. Tom was not home yet. When he had to go out of town I would pack up the kids and go with him. Things got better as they got a little older.
Then, 13 years ago, I was in the airport standing in line to board when I got REALLY REALLY sick. I ditched the line and ran for the bathroom. Heart palpitations, sweating and feeling like I was going to pass out is something you don’t want happening anywhere much less on an airport bathroom floor. I now know that I had food poisoning, but it tweaked something in my brain and every time since the thought of flying had me sick. It would start 3 days before a flight and not leave me until we were in the air. I have no fear of flying so I know that the bad experience caused something to wire wrong in my head. Then about five years ago, I got to the point where I was having a panic attack to leave the house. Even the most simple task of going to the grocery was making me empty my stomach before I could go anywhere. Weekend fun going out with Mr. Tom was something that I began to dread.
I went to the Dr. and she put me on a medicine that worked, but was highly addictive. This started me on my journey of being determined to find healthy alternatives for my health and well-being. I started by going to a Naturopathic doctor (which I highly recommend if you are able) and that was amazing. She helped me pin-point some of my issues and with some good vitamins I started feeling better. I still felt like I needed a bit more and these are the products that I have been using to help take all my anxiety and panic attacks away 99%.
I’m not a doctor so I can’t say that these will in fact work for you, but I can honestly say these have saved my life. I fly and travel without anxiety attacks and no longer dread the trips to the store. With what we are going through with this world-wide virus I know that a lot of people are having panic that never had it before. I hope my experience with these products will help you too!
Hyland’s #6 Tablets
These little babies are a powerhouse. Just recently I was having heart palpitations at night when I went to bed and recognized it as stress. After dissolving a few under my tongue, within minutes the palpitations were gone and I was able to sleep peacefully. I keep a bottle in my medicine cabinet and one in my purse. They will help knock out a headache, too. They are under $11 and if you can only get one of the products that I am sharing with you, get these!
CBD Oil
Now don’t get to excited about the thought of taking CBD oil…you are not going to get high. I have been taking the 500 mg full tincture (black lid…I pasted the wrong pic) for almost two years now in the peppermint flavor and just discovered that they have some new flavors. After much research I felt confident with this company and have been very happy with it. I do not sell this but you can read all about them on their site at HEMPWORX. This has been a god-send for me. I take drops under my tongue every morning and night and when I first started using this my anxiety stopped 90% almost immediately.
Progessence Plus
I know I am kind of all over the place here, but this is what I started out with first. I put two drops on each wrist morning and night and in a few days felt sooooooo much better! Actually I had to stop and think when was the last time I had had a panic attack when I first started using it. I am a huge essential oil believer and since then my arsenal of oils has gotten bigger. This is an oil that I never want to be without. So great for hormones and women’s general well being. This is helping me through peri-menopause big time. I do not sell this, but if you would like I can give you the contact info of my distributor and she can help you will all your oil needs. Just drop me a comment or an email and let me know.
I have been using a combination of lemon, lavender and peppermint around my ears and chest to help my allergies. Also, diffusing Thieves essential oil around the house and also in a spray bottle for cleaning my countertops, fruits & veggies.
Mr. Tom laughs at me about my gummies, but I love them. I don’t take them every night, just when I feel like I need that extra push over the edge to get some good sleep. They are a yummy grape flavor and they have worked really well for me. I catch Mr. Tom sneaking them from time to time even though he tells me they don’t really work. LOL
A few more things that help tremendously with stress:
- Praise and worship music…crank it up and just let it seep into every pore of your being.
- Pray…Mr. Tom and I pray for our sleep to be sweet every night. (Proverbs 3:24!)
- Back off the caffeine a bit if you are having more than usual amounts.
- Try to eat as healthy as possible…loads of fruits and veggies.
- Look for something good in everyday…you will be surprised how your outlook changes.
I hope some or all of this helps you and let me know if there is anything I can answer for you. If I’m not sure, I will do my best to steer you in the right direction. Hang tight…you got this!
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Great information! Thank you for sharing!!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for sharing what worked for you. Maybe a typo or double meaning, but “Thieves around the house?”
Hi Kathy! I say diffusing Thieves which is an essential oil. I’m sorry that was not clear.
