Goodness, this last month went by so fast. Did it for you also? It might be the month of May, but the weather here in Minnesota can’t decide. Keeping us all on our toes and our closets confused. Every time I think I can put the scarves and mittens away it drops 10 degrees. I had to throw this picture in here of our tree out front blooming to remind me that Spring is indeed coming.
So how have things been going since our Chitchat in March? Grab something yummy to drink and a snack and let’s catch up. I’m munching on some chocolates from Amsterdam that Mr. Tom brought home from his last trip. I don’t mind him going because that means some chocolates are coming home with him. That makes me sound like a “bad” wife. Priorities. So then I asked him what the brand was and he says, “You can order them on Amazon”. Dead. Now I can get these anytime I want! Here is linked my two favorites for you…just click on the two “highlighted chocolates” above. These would be great for Mother’s Day, too. Hint. Hint.
Here’s what April looked like around here:
- Starting a Closet Challenge
- 50 miles of walking
- Shoes
- Ordering a couch online
- Bread roll recipe
- Update from Mia
A few fashion friends of mine on Instagram are doing a #mayclosetchallenge. This is where you shop your closet and not spend any money on clothing items for the month. We are posting our daily outfits and getting creative with what we already have. My daughter is taking bets that I won’t make it. Please, send me some good vibes. You can follow along and even join in! Follow me HERE.
While we are on the “challenge train”, Mr. Tom and I made one between ourselves to walk 50 miles in a month. After starting out really good and getting 10 miles in the first week the weather messed us up, besides he got a bad head cold. We may have to walk 5 miles a day to catch up, but we are determined to do this! I am hoping that my clothes will fit a little loser. Now, if I just could just stop eating this chocolate.
Shoes. I have been on a shoe kick lately, it seems that I go in spurts with this. After ordering so many pairs it was time to do some rearranging in my closet. Maybe I shouldn’t be confessing this. These Caslon wedges have been my daily go to for the last few weeks. They are so comfortable and no breaking-in-point with them. The color is perfect and goes with everything. One caution, if you purchase them get a half-size larger. It is stated on the web-site and I ignored it…wrong decision.
About a week ago I did something out of my comfort zone. Purchasing a couch online. After going from store to store sitting on couches and not finding one that we liked, we ended up on the wonderful world of the internet. Finally, after what felt like scrolling through hundreds of couches we made a decision. It should be here soon and will share it with you at next months chitchat. Have you ever ordered a large piece like this for your home? Did it all work out okay? I need some good vibes here.
Let’s talk about that wonderful carb filled starch that is a staple that our country was founded on. Well, that might be a bit of a stretch, but not by much. Recently I discovered a super easy bread roll recipe and have made it literally 5 times this past month. It is great with soup, make a sandwich out of it or just butter the darn thing soon as it comes out of the oven! You won’t even have to fix dinner you will be so filled up. My son can’t get enough of them and I have to hide one to have the next day. Darn you Pinterest! You can find the recipe here.
Here’s an update from Mia: My Mom went on a trip with my Dad for a week and I missed her so much that I made myself sick. I just can’t help it, but my nerves get the best of me. I just need to keep my eye on her during the day and when she isn’t here I get myself in trouble, like getting in the bathroom trash. It took about 5 days, lots of cuddling including, a new toy and snuggling in between them in bed to get my system back to normal. I’m all good now and I think Mom may be thinking I get to go on the next trip! It pays to be cute.
Here is March Chitchat in case you missed it.
