It’s Pumpkin Time! Already. Can you believe? I cannot go into a store without being bombarded with everything pumpkin flavored. I even saw Pumpkin Cheerios! I mean I like the flavor, but cereal??? Have you tried it? If you have…please leave a comment and tell me. I may just have to spend the $4 to try them.
I have been decorating just a little for fall. I don’t do a whole lot, just little touches here and there. I go all out for Christmas so I don’t feel like having to dismantle everything for two holidays/seasons so close together. Plus, my husband has a fit every year when I start getting all the boxes out and tells me that I need to get rid of some decorations. I can’t imagine if I started adding a bunch of fall, too. AND how do you get rid of decorations?!! Isn’t there a law against that?
I had fun playing with my camera and taking different angles of the pumpkins I put out. Do you decorate for fall? I love any excuse to change decorations…just ask my family. haha I love fall for all the changing colors. The trees changing and dropping their leaves is one of the most beautiful times of the year. I really enjoy it since we live in Minnesota. We really get to enjoy all the seasons here. I missed it while we were in the south.
The days are fixing to get shorter so I am enjoying getting outside as much as possible. They are still trying to decide whether to be cool or warm. One day its sandals and the next its boots. I haven’t gotten the scarves out yet, but I have a feeling it will be soon.
Candles. Let’s talk candles. I love them. My favorite brand is Yankee Candle. I have been a fan for years. Just recently, I discovered you can get them at a pretty hefty discount at TJMaxx and Home Goods. My all time favorite that got me hooked is Blueberry. It is a little harder to find and if you have to order it, it is worth it. Other faves are Buttercream and Sugared Plum. My boys love Pumpkin Spice or Pumpkin Pie and they burn it all year-long in their computer area.
Here is a quick and easy recipe for some Pumpkin Muffins that you can put together in no time and a bit healthier for you. Super moist and tasty.
*1 box cake mix (yellow, spice or chocolate) you could even do sugar free
*1 15 ounce can pumpkin (solid pack)
Yep! That’s it! Mix it all together…don’t worry keep mixing, it will all come together. Bake in a muffin tin sprayed with a bit of Pam or liners and bake at 350` for about 20 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the middle and if it’s clean they are done! This makes 12. Try to wait until they cool a bit before diving in. I have a hard time with this. One more thing…if Mr. D is making these a handful (or two) of chocolate chips always ends up in the batter. Hmmmmm. I have thought about adding some minced apple to change it up a bit.
I would love to hear from you! Tell me what fall means to you. Any favorite recipes? Traditions?
I am still working on pictures from Mr. D’s and my vacation last month. Looking to do a post on it soon. Have an awesome day!
