I’m so excited to share with you My 10 Favorite Things in July, besides my adorable pup Mia. There were so many new products I tried out last month and wanted to share. July was such a busy month!
Before we dive in, here is what’s been going on in our family…
My daughter and her husband closed on their house and we helped them move, clean and do some painting. I am so thankful that all our kids live close to us. SO THANKFUL! It is amazing and I know it doesn’t always work out this way. So far so good. Everyone is within 15 minutes of each other.

Recently, “we” as in Mr. Tom (I supervised) added board and batten to our mudroom and I couldn’t love it more! I keep walking in there throughout the day just to look at it. There are a few more things left to wrap up the room such as: lighter paint on the other walls, a new light and a few decor pieces. I can’t wait to get it all done and show it to you! (coming soon)
We are looking forward to some “down time” at the lake this month. My plans are to finally work on my tan and get some kayaking in. Sitting on the porch with a glass of wine and a good book sounds good, too. Were you able to get away this summer?
Here is my list of 10 Favorite Things in July:
Volumizing & Texturizing Hair Product
I was introduced to this Big Sexy Hair Powder Play just recently and am loving the way that it gives my hair volume. You don’t have to do any back-combing at all. My hair is SUPER thick and I’ve have the hardest time getting body and fullness in there without a ton of product. Powder Play is talc free and gives you instant volume. I just sprinkle a little in my roots and fluff it through with my fingers. So easy!
About a month ago I had the opportunity to work with Caldera Lab and now have Mr. Tom trying out the Face Serum for men. He NEVER wants to put anything on his face to help with aging or to keep his face from drying out. With a little nudging he has been using this for a few weeks now and I have noticed a huge difference already! His face looks smoother and younger. He is also using it on the scars on his neck from surgery. I’m so glad we found something that he will use. He is the pickiest man on the planet and cannot handle anything on his face that makes him feel greasy and I won’t even get started on product in his hair! LOL
Okay, I must confess. I am a gummy lover! I just can’t refuse any gummy candy… you know those little blue and white sharks? I’m drooling just thinking about them. Sorry, got off track here. So when I found these Apple Cider Vinegar gummies from Goli I knew I had to try them. They are so delicious! I eat 2 a day and want to eat more. There are like a bazillion things that ACV is good for, but I get tired of drinking it everyday. This is the answer. They are Gluten-Free, Vegan, Non-GMO, Organic & Unfiltered. I just ordered 3 more bottles. These are great for giving your system a boost especially with Fall coming and weather changes. Also, they are great for kids going back to school!
Not sure where this brand has been all my life, but these are such comfortable shoes AND so cute! These new releases for Fall from Miz Mooz come in a variety of colors. I think they are going to be fun with a lot of outfits this Fall. They are having a fantastic sale right now…see them here.
This is not your typical tea. The Kabaki Kenyan Purple Tea is full of Antioxidants & Anthocyanins…compounds that are found in red and purple plants and berries. Their flavors are: Unsweetened, Lightly Sweet, Lemon, Peach & Raspberry. My favorite is Lemon and Mr. Tom’s is Raspberry. It is not overly sweet and syrupy tasting like so many teas are. Kabaki has just the right amount of flavor and very refreshing. By drinking this tea you are supporting both your health and local tea growers in Kenya. Read more about Kabaki Purple Power!
Yep, I said underwear. A friend of mine was raving about these from Innersy so I immediately ordered them. Yes, they are all that and more. I don’t always wear “mom” undies, but sometimes the tummy area just needs a bit of help especially when you are wearing a dress. These are high-waisted with tummy control. They have a wide double-layer waistband that helps hold the pooch in. I tested these out thoroughly before telling you about them. They will not roll at the waist and stay in place…and NO wedgies! Give them a try, they will soon become your favorites.
I have been on a MAJOR homemade ice cream making kick. I bought this ice cream maker for Mr. Tom’s birthday a few years ago and just now been playing with it and I LOVE IT! No messing with ice as it has it’s own compressor. I’m looking forward to making some fall flavors soon. Would you like me to post my ice cream recipe? I’ve made it no less than 7 times to perfect it. No lie. Drop me a comment if you would like me to share.
Anywho…I got side tracked, AGAIN. These ice cream containers/tubs are the perfect storage size and don’t take up a lot of room in the freezer. I have ordered 6 now! They are thick and sturdy with soft lids. They come in a variety of lid colors and that helps if you make a variety of flavors. Not that I would know this by experience. Ha!
I had never worn Spanx Jeans before and recently bought a pair. After wearing them around the house to try them out I was hooked. They don’t roll at the waist, stayed in place even with bending over and held my booty in nice and tight. They are a bit pricey, but they are worth it and will last a long time. Even when I lose a few pounds they will be great. I like the legging feel and know they will be awesome in the fall and winter with a long sweater over them.
CARDIGAN (size L) // TOP // SHORTS // SHOES
Have you ever shopped Evy’s Tree? They have the softest hoodies (and lots of other items now) and such fun colors! Here I am wearing the Honey in Kelly Green. They release new pieces every few weeks. Amy started this company just from making her daughter and nieces hoodies for Christmas. People saw them and started asking about them, thus Evy’s Tree was born. Go and read all about her journey and see how her company has grown. The sweetest lady you will ever meet and you will fall in love with her clothing!
I have talked about my favorite tanning lotions before, but this one from Tanologist is new to me and I was amazed at how wonderful it works. It is actually called Tanning Water. The thing I love about it is that you just add a few drops to your favorite lotion (YAS!) so you don’t have “the” smell. I even put a few drops in my face moisturizer and I had a soft glow on my face in a few hours that lasted for days. This is one that I will be using through the winter to keep a soft warm glow on my skin.
I hope the month of August is a fantastic one. Are you looking forward to Fall, Warm Sweaters & Pumpkin Spice Lattes?! (they will be here Aug. 28th!) I’m planning to switch my home decor to the fall colors when I get back from the lake.
