THE ULTIMATE CHOCOLATE FUDGE RECIPE
This was originally published Dec. 2019
We had a busy weekend with a holiday party and Christmas shopping. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with my shopping. Are you done? It is snowing today so I am staying in and finishing boxes that I need to mail.
I will also be making about 5 batches of The Ultimate Chocolate Fudge Recipe to put in the boxes for my family. Everyone loves this fudge and requests it every year. My mom started making this when I was a little girl and now I have taken over the reins. You can make this with lots of different flavored chips…I will give you some more ideas below. A family favorite that I’m positive will be a favorite for you too!
What other flavors could I make?
- peanut butter
- chocolate mint
- white chocolate
- butterscotch
- milk chocolate
Any bag of flavored chips will work perfectly with this recipe. I use semi-sweet for the most part, but my dad’s favorite is butterscotch while my mother-in-law loves peanut butter.
You can also add nuts. My mom likes to have walnuts in hers. Another ingredient that has a lot of options.
What nuts would be good in fudge?
- chopped almonds
- walnuts
- pistachios
- cashews
- pecans
This is my favorite saucepan to use. I like that it has a non-stick finish so you don’t have to worry about buttering the sides. The fudge just slides right out no problem. A rubber or wooden spoon will work best here because they don’t get hot. A metal spoon will get hot and it will scratch your pan.
When pouring out the fudge, you can use a foil lined pan or use disposable pans. Both work great! You can even get creative with shaped pans, small and large. I use one 8 x 8 pan so the fudge comes out with a nice thickness, but again this is your choice. Enjoy!
