A Weekend in Stillwater Minnesota

A weekend in Stillwater, MN.

Exploring towns on the weekend is one of Mr. Tom and I’s favorite things to do in the summer. The older the town the better. We love going through antique stores. Old books and drinking glasses are always on our radar. We always get a good laugh when we find something that we had when we were kids because, you see, we are not that old!

Always at the top of my list is to find a place to get a memorable pastry and a cup of coffee or if it’s real hot out an ice cream cone. I’ll never say no to a good burger and a glass of wine. Stillwater is one of our favorite towns to spend a weekend.

The Daily Grind

Stillwater is known as the birthplace of Minnesota. The St. Criox runs along the town and you can take a dinner boat tour, sail, rent a boat or jet-ski. We live about 45 minutes away and it’s a great place for a whole weekend or even for the day. You can learn all about this town HERE.

Brick & Bourbon

This is a restaurant new for us and is now at the top of our list.

I had the PB & Jay. It has a donut for the bun! This was a first for me. With peanut butter, jelly and smoked bacon this was enough to send me into a delicious food coma. Good thing I had a lot of coffee. Mr. Tom had a burger with a fried egg on the top. Don’t even get me started on the fries yes, I had to finish them all.

A Weekend in Stillwater MinnesotaOn this weekend away we stayed at a newer hotel to Stillwater HOTEL CROSBY. It is right on Main St. and has a restaurant and bar.

I loved the room and a lot of them have fireplaces and a deck. The pictures in the bathrooms and all along the hallways are so fun just to wander around and look at them all and take pictures. The rooftop has a hot tub, comfy places to sit and enjoy the weather while having a drink.

I will give you a heads up that if you plan on eating at the restaurant MATCHSTICK make a reservation an hour plus before you want to eat. It fills up really fast! It is located in the lobby area of the hotel.

A Weekend In Stillwater MinnesotaHow fun is this wall in the bathroom. I’m wondering if I should do something fun like this in the master bath at my house…what do you think?

A Weekend In Stillwater Minnesota

A Weekend In Stillwater MinnesotaLove all the rustic touches. Mr. Tom actually fell asleep for awhile in this huge bean bag and I snuck in a nap the next day. Thinking about getting a few for our bonus room.

I should mention that they do not put phones, clocks, mini fridges or ironing boards (you can request one) in the rooms. It’s just their way of stream-lining things since everyone has a phone for calls and an alarm clock.
