We are just under 3 weeks until the 4th of July and I have been gathering things here and there to make the day festive. When we lived in Colorado we always hosted for our family and friends. The last year we celebrated in at our home there was over 40 people! So many great memories. Everyone that came would pitch in with food and everything was so yum! We played yard games and then when it was dark we watched fireworks from our backyard. Everyone wore red, white and blue and our family would always wear matching tees from Old Navy. Celebrating the 4th of July will always hold a special place in my heart. Do you have any traditions for the holiday?

A few years ago my daughter made this Firecracker Cake and it was so delicious! Paired with my sparking strawberry sangria we indulged until we were bursting at the seams! Such a great centerpiece for your 4th of July celebration.
Every year we make these red, white and blue chocolate dipped strawberries. They are the easiest thing ever and be sure to make extra because they will disappear fast!
- strawberries
- white chocolate (we use Ghiradelli white chocolate)
- blue sugar (you can add blue food coloring to sugar)
Wash strawberries and let them dry completely. Melt chocolate over a double broiler or microwave in 30 second intervals stirring often until chocolate is melted. Dip the strawberry in the chocolate and then into the blue sugar leaving space for the white to show. Lay on wax paper or parchment paper until set. I recommend making these the day of so the strawberries don’t juice up. That’s all there is to it!
My family LOVES shrimp and quac and this looks like the perfect combination plus, quick and easy! I will be making this to go along with grilled burgers for our 4th of July celebration.
I’m always looking for a new way to fix a burger because life is too short for a “normal” burger. These look amazing and definitely going to be a part of our 4th of July buffet!
These cheesecakes are the most viewed post on my blog and I can see why! I make them every year and change them up with different toppings often. For the 4th of July they would be great with strawberries and blueberries on the top. Get creative and have fun with it!
