Recently I have been in the process of re-decorating our living room. Last year, Tom and I repainted the interior of our home from top to bottom in a gorgeous gray [Sherwin Williams – Agreeable Gray] with a few accent walls [Sherwin Williams – Dovetail] and we have been so happy with it. So happy with the color that we painted our son’s condo the same color scheme. It has brown undertones so that I gives the walls a warmer gray tone. It is perfect with our dark floors and new gray carpeting.

I wanted to change some furniture as well and I just kept going around in circles trying to make decisions. My daughter suggested making a living room mood board and I really didn’t think I would need it. Well, I soon found out that after I did make one things just started coming together for me. It sure helps having a visual! Have you ever tried a mood board? I highly recommend it.

Now that I have my basics done we can add colors for the seasons. I started out with the blue and now adding some orange and rust for fall. We had a darker colored couch for years and since we lightened it up with an off-white couch I can add the colors for the seasons as I want to. Not to worry if you have a darker toned couch you can still add seasonal colors to it. Sometimes it is helpful to refer to a color wheel to help you pull your colors together. Here are some accent pieces that I recently found and adding along with the blue for a fall vibe in our home.
