May Chitchat 2019. There is a lot to share from this last month. Don’t know about you, but I love these monthly chats. Let’s envision meeting up for coffee or drinks at our favorite hangout. It would be great if you drop me a comment and let me know what’s new with you!
My drink of choice is a Cold Foam Cold Brew. Lately, I have been making them at home with some cold brew coffee and then a healthy dose of half and half spun into a delicious foam. Today, I’m munching on a Blueberry Scone and HERE is a real yummy one that you can make. Super great for breakfast too.
So grab your favorite brew and let’s get this May Chitchat started!
Wear your Sunscreen Please!
A few weeks ago we had quite a scare with Mr. Tom.
Our daughter is a hair stylist and cuts his hair on a regular basis when she noticed a mole that was on his neck that was getting larger and changing in appearance. Being very concerned about it, I made an appointment with our dermatologist right away.
A biopsy confirmed that it was melanoma. Off to a plastic surgeon and surgery was scheduled the next week. The Dr took no chances and removed all the skin around the area plus, removed 4 pockets of lymph nodes. Did you know you have lymph nodes all over your body? There are 50 clusters of them just in your neck.
So after a pretty extensive surgery, he now has a 8 inch incision across the back of his neck. After another week of being on pins and needles all the nodes came back completely clear and all the melanoma gone! Thank the Lord. We are so thankful that we were referred to a top surgeon and he did a fantastic job.
I am now on the “band wagon” with him to wear sunscreen every day and a hat. It is so crazy that this happened because Mr. Tom works in an office everyday and is not in the sun much at all.
So, please please please wear sunscreen and stay protected. It is a scary thing guys. After doing a bit of research trying to find a sunscreen that is not full of the “yuckies” this one seems pretty good. You can find it HERE. If you have one that you like please let me know. Be safe babes!
Closet Challenge Wrap Up.
I had so much fun this month with the May Closet Challenge. This meant no clothes, shoe or accessory shopping for the month. Shop and style your daily outfits from your closet. It was hard at first, but then I got into the swing of things. There is a friend of mine that is going on to do 90 days. Whew, that one is a little too long for me. This girl has got to get some new summer shoes!
The first 2 weeks of outfits are posted HERE.
Mother’s Day 2019
Mother’s Day this year was fabulous! ALL my kids were together and we had the best time at Top Golf. After not swinging a club for a few years, I am itching to get back out on the golf course. It gave me a bit of the bug again. Never have been to a Top Golf before, it is a pretty cool place. They have different games that you can play and it is set up with a screen to keep score similar to bowling. Each group has their own section and you can order food and drinks which are all served to you. It’s really fun and would definitely go again.
Sunless Tanning Lotion I’m Loving
St. Tropaz brand makes my favorite self tanner. Over the years I have tried just about every one out there.
I’ve been using this brand for a few years now and stopped looking for anything else. No streaking or icky smells. Dries very quickly and darkens the longer you leave it on. Refer to the picture above.
Apply it with a mitt to get a nice smooth finish. As with any self tanner, it is always a good idea to exfoliate your skin first and then put a light layer of lotion on your knees, ankles and elbows so the tanner doesn’t “bunch” up on those spots. That summer glow will have you smiling in no time at all.
You can find the tanner HERE and the mitt HERE and the body exfoliate scrub I use HERE. The search is over for the best quick tan.
Summer nail color.
I’m loving this color that are on my nails this month. It is from OPI, color is Aurora Berry-alis. You can find it HERE. I usually don’t go for a pink color, but this one just called out to me and I’m really enjoying it.
Spring Fun with Mia.
I got to do a photo shoot for Mom!
Happy Pet sent her some shampoo, conditioner and some lotion to keep the pads of my paws nice and soft. Not sure was going on and was just so happy to see treats in a wine glass. Bath time doesn’t get more perfect than that.
Lemongrass & Rosemary mint made me smell so good and my hair so soft. The lemongrass also helps to keep the mosquitoes away. If you have a pup they will love this too…you can get it HERE. & HERE.
Also, you can find my favorite treats HERE (they don’t have sugar in them and the only ones approved by my Mom).
If you missed April’s Chitchat you can read it HERE.
