I have a love/hate relationship with the warehouse stores. When my kids were younger it was just about the only place I shopped. Now days I shop at a few different places depending on what I need, but for the bulk items I still go here. About once every three weeks I need stock up on toilet paper, napkins and la criox. I must confess…I recently went to Costco and got a membership there for the wine. Geez, their prices are amazing and because of the zoning laws here where Sam’s is located they can’t sell wine. Whatever… That will be another blog post. So…here are some basics that I buy at Sam’s on a regular basis. You might say shop the grocery store sales, but at this point in my life with 5 adults in the house bulk is just easier for me.

One more thing to note that is fabuloussssss you can download an app on your phone called “scan and go”. You just shop to your hearts content and scan your items as you go then walk your little self right out the door. NO UNLOADING YOUR CART AND STANDING IN LINE!!! Yes, I’m yelling because it is the BEST. THING. EVER! ๐Ÿ™‚ (Hello, Costco…get with the times). Psst…I also take my own grocery bags and load them as I go…easy peasy for when you get home.

We don’t eat beef too often anymore and this turkey is really good. Not “a pink mush” like some turkey brands can be. This comes in a 2-pack for the $13.45 (5lbs total so that is $2.69 a lb). I usually buy 2 at a time and throw them in the freezer. They thaw out fairly quick and you could even cut it in down and freeze smaller portions if needed. I use this on a regular basis for taco meat, chili & meatballs.

Here is another that comes in a 2-pack. The prices go up and down on eggs all the time. I don’t understand it. Yesterday, I paid $5.67 so that works out to be $2.84 for an 18 pack. They do have cage free and other options that are more, but the way we go through them I figured these chickens would need to be living in a palace and eating gold speckled feed for it to be worth my money. No offense here…everyone has their opinion on eggs it seems. ๐Ÿ™‚

Speaking of eggs. My daughter only eats egg whites. Sheesh. I’ll tell you something else…she scrambles them up and puts peanut butter on the top. Whaaaaat?!? Have you heard of anyone eating them like this or tried it yourself? I personally thing it’s yucky. I digress. In this box you get 6 -16 oz. cartons for $8.98. That works out to be $1.50 each.

This is not something I buy every time because this is the first time I have seen it! Of course, I HAD to buy them! You get 8 in a box for $9. Yep, you guessed it…yum!

Plain Greek Yogurt (why didn’t I get a better picture than this?!?) I eat yogurt for breakfast about 4 days a week. A little honey, berries and nuts and I’m good to go. We use it in place of sour cream and my “kids” like it in smoothies. So yes, we go through a lot. $4.26 for 16 oz.

My boys are on a Hummus kick right now. They love it with meat and veggies for lunch so a lot of this is going into lunch bags. This brand is made here in MN so I’m not sure if this is only local or not. It tastes really fresh and I think the price is pretty good. As you can see in the picture you can get Sabra which is what I would buy until they starting carrying this. I am going to try a recipe for Alfredo where you substitute the cream sauce for hummus as the base. I’ll let you know how it works out.

Fresh fruit goes up and down with the prices, but this time the strawberries were $3.98 for 2 lbs. We eat a lot of fruit around here so buying larger packages are good for me. If by chance they start going a little wonky on you before you get them finished you can throw them in your juicer or freeze them and use in smoothies. I personally love them sliced up on my salad with dinner. So good.

Blueberries another one I can’t get enough of. These go on my yogurt for breakfast…on salad (along with those strawberries)…muffins…you get the picture. My pup loves them, too! You can see her on Instagram @miathefluffย  A little “plug” for her there. LOL Ohhhhh! These were $4.98 for 2 lbs.

We eat broccoli. A. Lot. It seems that I make Beef with Broccoli once a week. We steam it…roast it or dip it in that hummus! It’s washed and ready to go. $3.98 for 2 lbs.

I try to eat salad at least once a day so this big pack goes pretty quick. The price seems to go up and down a lot…maybe those bunnies get in the fields and they don’t get as much lettuce…who knows, just a goofy theory of mine. This time I paid $3.98 for 5 heads of lettuce. These are also great for sandwiches to use in place of bread if you are trying to cut down on those carbs so you can have some cookie dough after dinner. ๐Ÿ™‚

I seriously could have this whole pallet delivered to my house once a month. Hmmmm…that’s an idea! This has been great for kicking the soda and they always have such creative flavors. This is four six-packs for $7.88. So that is $1.97 a six-pack and .33 a can. Your welcome. ๐Ÿ™‚

My son is really bad about getting up in time to eat breakfast so he grabs on of these protein bars on his way out the door. I like to keep one in my purse for those times I’m out running around and get a bit hungry…keeps me out of the McDonald’s drive-through line. Can I get a witness?! They taste pretty good and honestly fills me up for hours. They work out to be a little over a dollar a piece.

This peanut butter is used at our house for smoothies and I put a heaping teaspoon in my husbands overnight oats along with some protein powder.ย  Since it is powdered it mixes so easily. It is $9.98 for a 30 oz. jar.

This is a big bag of cranberries, I know. We use them a lot…My husband likes them on his salad…they are great in oatmeal, yogurt and of course, cookies. I divide them up into smaller air-tight containers and they stay nice and moist just fine. They are $7.63 for a 56 oz. bag.

Can you handle one more item? I don’t buy them all the time, but…

…in my opinion they are the best (boxed) brownies out there unless you are making them totally from scratch. ๐Ÿ™‚ Trust me I have tried every brand and this one hits the mark every time. My favorite way? With a side of mint chip ice cream. See how I made that sound like a dinner course? This is a 4-pack for $7.88 that works out to $1.97 each.

Hope this has helped a bit if you are on the fence about getting a membership or not. For a basic membership I believe it is $60 and check Groupon…they have deals all the time. Geez…Sam’s should be paying me for this. LOL ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheers! ~Cindy
