Happy First Day of Summer friends! It’s the longest day of the year so make sure and get outside to enjoy. Living up north we have been having really long days with it getting dark just before 10 pm and the sun is up at 5 am. I LOVE it and wish it was this way all the time! Although yesterday it was 100 here and now I’m wishing we had a pool. It’s not always cold up north!
Being outside for meals or just enjoying a glass of wine in the evenings is so good for the soul. Looking at the flowers blooming and the birds flitting from tree to tree is so relaxing. These are a few things I love about being out on the patio.
We bought a new patio table this year that I am sharing today along with some great items to help make your outdoor living comfortable. Have a wonderful summer!
PATIO LIVING WITH HOME DEPOT
Outdoor Rug – I like a neutral rug for under the table. It doesn’t distract from the greenery and flowers or decor that you have around you.
Table & Chairs – This is the set that we purchased this year and have been very happy with it. The chairs are a little heavier so I don’t worry about them blowing over on a windy day. I went with a bench seat on one side so that we can make this table seat 7 with 3 sitting on the bench (it’s padded!).
Faux Greenery – Always a great idea if you live in a really hot climate where it’s hard to keep a real plant thriving. Instant color that you can just set into your favorite pot.
Melamine Plates – These plates look like ceramic and the colors are so pretty! Perfect for eating outside and you don’t have to worry if one is dropped because it won’t break.
String Lights – Lights just make the patio look magical at night! These Edison style with the gold are so fun.
Citronella Candles – I was attracted to these candles for the wooden tops that you can snuff the candle out with. Plus, repurpose them when the candle is done. I’m thinking some cute little succulents!
Bird Bath – We have had a bird bath in one of our flower beds for about 7 years now and I love seeing the birds come for a bath or a drink.
Expandable Hedge – I just have to say this is amazing! Even our landscaper took a closer look at it because she thought it was a real plant I had growing. This is the 4th summer season for us to have this hedge up on our patio. I just spray it down occasionally to keep it looking fresh. We have even kept it up all during the winter months (lots of snow) and it still looks just as good as the first day we put it up!
Weber Grill – Tom is a lifer for a Weber grill now that we have had ours for over 10 years and not had a lick of trouble with it. Worth every penny!
Smokeless Fire Pit – It had me a smokeless! I love being outside on summer nights with a fire going and plenty of smores, of course! Easy to move around and the patina gets darker the more you use it.
Garden Stool – So versatile. Use it as a side table, set a plant on it or as some extra seating. They come in more colors and I like the white because it will go with everything.
Bar Cart – Another item that has so many great uses. Extra room for drinks and food. Plants and flowers. Whatever you need! I like the wicker look…it matches so many different pieces of patio furniture.
